Larimar is also known as the Atlantis Stone in healing stone lore. Its only occurrence in its blue colors to this day is the Dominican Republic.
Legend has it that Larimar is connected to the lost paradise. It is said that Larimar is the only remaining testimony of the legendary island of Atlantis.
Larimar symbolizes boundlessness. Its colors are those of the endless sky and the vast sea. Since ancient times, it has been worn as a protective stone against evil spirits, natural disasters, and illnesses. Many properties are attributed to this stone; among other things, Larimar is said to open new ways of thinking and acting and to serve self-realization.
Due to its high calcium content, it is also said to have a strengthening effect on bones and growth. Larimar is a very popular and attractive jewelry stone, which is used for necklaces, earrings, bracelets, pendants, and bracelets. It is very valuable because it has become almost exploited and therefore very rare.
