Chrysoprase

This gemstone is a nickel-containing chalcedony. Chrysoprase has been known for millennia as a jewelry stone and decorative stone. Its name comes from Greek and means "gold - leek." Chrysoprase is also said to have been Cleopatra's feel-good stone / harmony stone in ancient Egypt, and at the same time, chrysoprase was worn there as a protective stone against the plague. Chrysoprase was also Frederick the Great's favorite stone. People also saw it as a symbol of love, truth, and justice. In ancient Greece, chrysoprase was revered as the stone of the family; it was believed to preserve love and family cohesion.
In crystal healing, chrysoprase is used as a gemstone for trust and security, as well as for emotional burdens. Chrysoprase is used for detoxification and is also said to have positive effects on skin diseases and fungal infections.
